Things went on normally and the next days I continued my normal life without much thought. I went to lectures, went on the Internet, did some sports and meet with friends. There was a party on Saturday night and I was psyched to go, especially since I hadn't really gone out for a while cause of university and my part time job. So this was the first time in a while for me to have some real fun, get drunk and meet that hot brunette girl my friend wanted to introduce me too.
Nothing out of the ordinary happened. The party was pretty damn cool. Hanging out with some friends and the girl, Clair, turned out to be quiet a nice girl and I got her number. The party itself came to an end at around four in the morning, but after the second time the police came over cause of some uptight neighbours we decided to give it a rest and leave. I spend some more time with Clair, brought her to her train station and then went on my way home myself. After arriving at my local train station, I still had to walk for about twenty minutes to reach the apartment building. The night was really nice though and I didn't mind at all. I was pretty drunk and didn't mind. The streets were empty and a little bit of solitude after listening to hard bass music for hours wasn't that bad. Being drunk, having a last beer in my one hand and a smoke in the other and considering that I hit things off with Clair pretty damn well, I was feeling damn good. I casually walked a long the pavement of the sidewalk, when I saw a figure in front of me. Another person, drunk and on their way home. My neighbour hood was pretty decent so I didn't expect any trouble and simply continued walking towards that person who apparently was lost or too drunk to find home. I laughed a little to myself, thinking about how often I had been in the same situation. That laugh ended abruptly as the figure stopped under a streetlight. Standing there, in front of me was another person with the head of an animal. A shiver ran down my spine. What was going on? The memories of the rabbit man I had seen a week before, came flushing back into my consciousness. No I said to myself. No no no. I am drunk, I am hallucinating. A shook my head in disbelieve, closed my eyes smiling and then took another look, knowing that I would be greeted by the dumbfounded look of some drunk who was wondering what was up with me. Nothing like that happened. The animal head was still where it had been. Still right on the shoulders of that humanoid figure. While I was watching, the figure apparently had noticed my presence and turned toward me. The head was the head of a dog. The long snout and the deep laying eyes both were pointed in my direction. When the thing opened its mouth, I was already running. The absurdity of the situation was too much for me. While I was running away, I was laughing, laughing because I heard the barking of a dog. It was totally insane. I didn't understand what was going on and I was driven by fear. When I was back to my senses, I was nearly at the train station again. I was shivering, I felt cold and I had a strange feeling in my whole body. Only seconds after I had stopped, my stomach was going crazy and before I knew it, I was on my hands, vomiting on the sidewalk. I didn't know what to do at that point. For some reason I decided it was best to go back to the train station. I sat down on some of the benches. Still shivering, still not sure what was going on. Was I hallucinating? Was I going insane? But why would my mind make up something as abstruse as these animal men. The whole thing was way to insane, hilarious and disturbing.
It didn't know how many time went by, but at some point I must have fallen asleep. I was woken up by the sound of an arriving train. Upon checking my phone I noticed that it was already past nine in the morning. I stood up shivering. The image of the strange creature or thing I had seen was still vivid in my mind. I shock my head. The alcohol? Maybe. I didn't know. What I knew was that I had to get home. Saying to myself, that maybe the memories of the strange rabbit thing I had seen or hallucinated in combination with the alcohol had caused this new hallucination went through my head. I nodded to myself to assure me, that there was a logical explanation for this. Something that would not include me being insane.
I still took a completely different route home. I waited at every corner for something strange to appear. I looked above my shoulder every few seconds. When I was finally in my apartment. I locked the door, checked every single room and place in it and then went into my bedroom and locked it too. Laying on my bed, my eyes open and watching the door, I told myself over and over and over again that there had to be a logical explanation to this. There had to be something to make sense of this. I didn't come up with anything...
